Software locates usable information from a mass of data

There's a contradiction built into the idea of an integrated security system. The perfect security system would monitor every square inch of a protected area, send an instant alarm, swing surveillance cameras into place, deny access to intruders and allow access to authorized personnel the instant an event occurs. Although everything would be viewed, the system should only respond to events that concern security. How, from a mass of data, does one distill usable information? High Tech Guarding: Is Security the Steamroller or the Road?

CNL to Expand Facilities in the United States

CNL Software Inc. has announced further expansion plans in the US. CNL is starting a major expansion program in the US following its incorporation. CNL Presented at the Critical National Infrastructure Security Seminar, hosted by IBM

Terrorists and political activists intent on hurting the UK economy will target vulnerable parts of our critical national infrastructure such as transport links and hubs, the generation and distribution of gas and electricity and food production and distribution.

That's according to experts who spoke at the first-ever Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) Security Seminar organised by CCTV Media, with partners IBM, CNL, Guide Security Services and Axis Communications.

With speakers from both security consultants and end users including the Olive Group, Janusian Security Risk Management, IBM and Wimbledon shared their experiences and knowledge on protecting CNI, the event was invaluable to all attendees.

Thom Williamson, head of security for IBM in the UK and Ireland, described the needs of his organisation that led him and his colleagues to specify IPSecurityCenter Integrated Situation Management software from CNL.

The event was an outstanding success, with lots of excellent feedback from attendees.
