IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM Chosen by MENA Law Enforcement

GLOBAL RELEASE - May 9, 2012 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, and Smart Cube,
a world class systems integrator in the MENA region have announced their collaboration on a project to provide a Common Operating Platform for a law enforcement Organization
to a major Middle Eastern Police Force.

The joint project will expand the existing public protection video surveillance capability within the law enforcement Organization, whilst leveraging the significant investment
in legacy platforms such as DVRs, GIS mapping, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), large screen video display and video analytics technologies. IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM solution from
CNL Software was chosen for its ability to support the CCTV expansion project without the need to replace the existing infrastructure, while putting in place a framework that would
allow for future expansion without dependence upon any specific manufacturer.

IPSecurityCenter will provide a single Common Operating Platform (COP) for all of the Organization's mission critical security systems across operators with varying roles and
permission levels. It will offer the Organization the ability to aggregate intelligence further, by integrating additional security and business technologies without concern regarding
the user interfaces or compatibility.

"We were looking to work with a leading edge PSIM provider with a strong technical team and with experience of successfully implementing similar major international law
enforcement projects, in addition to having regional references", explains Atieh Al Matti, Security Sales Consultant at Smart Cube. "IPSecurityCenter has exceeded our high
expectations in every way. It has a very comprehensive and powerful feature set straight off the shelf, but what we have been most impressed by has been the flexibility and
customizability provided by the software according to user needs and integrated sub-systems".

"We are delighted to be working with Smart Cube on this critical Law Enforcement project. Working together, we will ensure that the Organization has an extremely high level
integrated security solution to protect a nation's citizens, commerce and infrastructure", says James Condron, VP Sales - CNL Software. "We look forward to our
continuing relationship with Smart Cube and collaboration on future projects."

CNL Software and e-Thele Work on Joint Projects in S.Africa

GLOBAL RELEASE - May 3, 2012 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, and
e-Thele SQD Networks a market leader in the design, implementation and support of Situational Management and PSIM solutions are working together on two new security
projects in South Africa. The joint projects will utilize the IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM platform to integrate with other security products and systems, providing
comprehensive situation management for metal ore mining and petrochemical customers.

Security professionals with responsibility for protecting oil and gas extraction sites, coal mines and metal ore mines face the risk of violent attacks as well as natural
disasters, which they need to manage in order to minimize risks to the security, health and safety of personnel. The security challenge in this market includes maintaining the
security of personnel, buildings and facilities, engineering structures, storage tanks, pipes, generators, transport systems, heavy machinery, equipment and accessories often
located over vast geographical areas both above and underground.

Ensuring compliance to set procedures is a significant challenge especially in these often remote and hazardous environments. IPSecurityCenter integrates security systems
including, video surveillance, access control (ACS), perimeter detection system (PIDS), fire alarms, intruder detection, IP Intercoms and fire suppression. Information from all
of these systems is aggregated and processed to provide real time guidance to operators. IPSecurityCenter ensures that changes to security status or any threats to the security
estate are immediately visible and the appropriate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is enforced. The solution also offers the ability to integrate to business systems as well
as security systems such as those for HR, Health and Safety and Time & Attendance.

"The sheer size and complexity of mining facilities and fuel transportation networks makes them difficult to secure", explains Wolfgang Engling, Managing Director of
e-Thele SQD Networks. "Monitoring perimeter fences, multiple process environments, loading jetties, pipelines and distribution networks all require comprehensive management.
IPSecurityCenter allows our customers to centralize all their security systems to provide complete situational awareness."

"IPSecurityCenter has already proved itself in some of the toughest environments and sits at the heart of some of the world's major fuel and industrial manufacturing
solutions from oil refinery operations in the Middle East to power production in the UK. PSIM is now considered an essential component when securing these critical sites",
says Adlan Hussain, Marketing Manager - CNL Software. "e-Thele have been excellent partners on these projects, and are one of the first to companies to deploy PSIM within
sub-Sahara Africa, we look forward to working with them on further projects in the near future."

About e-Thele SQD Networks

CNL Software and SightLogix Announce Partnership

Integration Empowers Security Operations with Accurate Outdoor Video Detection to Aid Situational Awareness and Incident Resolution

GLOBAL RELEASE - April 26, 2012 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software and SightLogix®, Inc.,
the leading smart thermal camera manufacturer for perimeter security applications, announce the integration of SightLogix's outdoor video analytics system with
CNL Software's IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM platform offering accurate outdoor video detection to aid situational awareness and incident resolution.

SightSensor video analytic cameras, which detect objects that violate perimeter security rules, can now send video and alarm information over the network for display within
the IPSecurityCenter PSIM system. The combination of technologies provides actionable information about threats that may occur over substantial outdoor areas, coupled with
aggregated intelligence for rapid and precise incident resolution. Alerts and alarms from SightLogix can also trigger actions in the PSIM software to initiate advanced operator
guidance, using IPSecurityCenter's automated workflow technology.

"This integration takes two time-proven solutions and makes the combined benefits available to future and existing customers of both systems," said John Romanowich,
President and CEO, SightLogix. "The joint solution will be of interest to a wide range of security applications, including transportation, oil & gas, utilities, and other types
of critical infrastructure protection."

"Physical security is in transition, from video systems which are reliant on constant monitoring and input by security personnel to information based systems which proactively
manage the increasing volume of video traffic in the control room. This integration will ensure only the most relevant video is brought to the attention of operators, enabling
organizations to manage more sites to a higher security level with less operators," said Matthew Kushner, President - CNL Americas. "Incorporating specialized and
innovative technologies as part of overall situational awareness expands IPSecurityCenter's value to the user and keeps us the forefront of the PSIM industry."

About SightLogix®, Inc.
SightLogix outdoor video security systems protect critical infrastructure and key assets of the transportation, energy, utility, chemical, datacenters, public safety,
school and religious campuses, and defense industries. The company's systems provide full situational awareness to increase both the effectiveness and efficiency of
security operations. SightLogix systems include SightSensor video analytic detection cameras, Clear24 thermal cameras and SightTrackers that automatically steer PTZ cameras.

PSIM: Bringing Information Management to Physical Security

GLOBAL RELEASE - April 19, 2012 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM)
software, will be demonstrating its IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM solution, which is key to securing critical infrastructure, national assets
and corporate enterprise around the world, on stand D78 at the Counter Terror Expo conference in London on 25th-26th April 2012.

Today national infrastructure organizations face increased instances of terrorist threats to critical infrastructure including power production,
fuel processing, mass transit, distribution networks, water and agriculture. The security challenge includes maintaining the safety of national assets
which are essential to society and the economy, the failure or damage of which would have a devastating impact far greater than the site perimeter.

"IPSecurityCenter from CNL Software sits at the heart of some of the world's major Critical Infrastructure Protection solutions from oil
refinery operations in the Middle East producing over 10 Million barrels of oil a day to a power station powering 10% of the UK national grid and
from a process facility in the US supplying water to 1.5 million people to a US port authority protecting over 10,000 passengers a day", explains
James Condron, VP Sales - CNL Software. "Counter Terror Expo gives us a great opportunity to discuss PSIM benefits using real life case studies
with security professionals who understand that having intelligent security systems is imperative to maintaining services in the event of a major
terrorist incident or environmental disaster."

Terrorist activities are not limited to Critical Infrastructure; corporate enterprises are also significant targets of direct terrorist attacks,
which according to Counter Terror Expo "could result in major property damage, operational disruption, human casualties and long-term damage
to both brand and reputation". CNL Software is enabling many corporate organizations to use PSIM solutions to maximize emergency preparedness by

City of Atlanta Chooses IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM

GLOBAL RELEASE - March 1, 2012 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, partners with CIBER, Inc. to provide the Atlanta Police Department with an integrated suite of emergency dispatch applications that allow call takers and dispatchers to manage incident information more efficiently.

Ensuring the safety and security of citizens and visitors is key to the success and progress of any city.
This is especially true for Atlanta. The City covers 8,376 square miles, is home to over 5 Million in the Metropolitan area,
hosts over 35 Million visitors per year and is protected by 1,639 police officers.

Over the years Atlanta has become more reliant on the use of visual intelligence to help identify and resolve safety and
security incidents faster and more precisely. The City had invested in a number of surveillance systems to provide law enforcement
and security professionals with visual intelligence through the eye of a camera, well before first responders had arrived.

The next step for the City is to expand and leverage the fully functioning Video Integration Center (VIC) powered by IPSC
to bring together disparate, legacy video systems and additionally, to utilize the large number of private cameras located in the City,
from sources ranging from the Publix supermarket in Buckhead to the Georgia State University.

"The City required that the solution chosen to protect its citizens, commerce and infrastructure was a tried and trusted
technology, proven within the Safe City framework", explains Matthew Kushner, President - CNL Americas. "IPSecurityCenter
was selected not only because it has been deployed in cities, including Washington DC and Manchester in the UK, but also because it
has a proven track record in providing the resilience and scalability needed to connect, manage and distribute the huge amount of
data generated by the City".

As with any enterprise level system, there is a constant need to increase the system, both in terms of the number of users,
geographic coverage and new functionality. IPSecurityCenter offers Atlanta an easy migration path to incorporate new technologies
such as gunshot detection systems, tracking systems and smart video such as LPR and analytics. The integration capability that
IPSecurityCenter offers will enable the City to reach all new technologies and legacy systems, both public and private, that are
required to realize its vision for public-private partnerships in the foreseeable future.

About Atlanta
Atlanta has a resident population of over 420,000. It is the cultural and economic center of the Atlanta metropolitan area,
which is home to more than five million people and is the ninth largest metropolitan area in the United States. Additionally, Atlanta
is one of the United States' leading tourist destinations, both for Americans and those visiting the U.S. from abroad.
As of 2010, the city was the seventh-most visited city in the US, with over 35 million visitors per year.

Market Insight Report: Safe City Supplier Landscape

Frost & Sullivan February 2012
Convergence is happening across industries and markets at great pace and the security sector is no different from other infrastructure related markets such as energy and transportation. As city populations and GDP continue to rise through urbanisation, so does
the threat level, with increased populations leading to anonymity and the prevalence and clustering of high threat targets presenting terrorist groups with attractive opportunities. The current slowdown in the world economy has led to an increase in crime
against a backdrop in Western economies of a reduction in police force headcount. This makes the role of technology increasingly important in ensuring a Safe City environment.

BRS Labs Joins CNL Software's Technology Alliance Program

GLOBAL RELEASE - February 7, 2012 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software and BRS Labs Inc., innovators of the industry's first behavioral recognition solution for video surveillance, jointly announce today a technology partnership between the two companies. The partnership, under the CNL Software's Technology Alliance Program (TAP), will allow the companies to share development kits, thus creating close integration between their products. The integration will bring together industry leading incident analytics with industry leading situation management software.

AISight™, created by BRS Labs, is the industry's first behavioral recognition solution for the video surveillance industry that observes, learns and responds to unusual activity, and memorizes these behavioral patterns as well as objects over a period of time. Specifically designed to autonomously serve as the eyes and brain for critical security environments, AISight™, is able to integrate with existing video surveillance infrastructure and identify unusual and suspicious behavioral patterns in real time. This advanced video surveillance technology is currently deployed across multiple verticals and is being actively specified into security projects across the globe.

No human is required to define parameters for the software to recognize specific behavior or objects, as it autonomously reports unusual or suspicious behaviors based on memories it has acquired over time, which significantly reduces the risk of missed events.

"CNL Software continues to optimize and improve the efficiencies of its PSIM product, IPSecurityCenter. The AISight integration will add substantial performance advantages in identifying incidents and trends, while IPSecurityCenter will ensure they are accurately responded to," said John Frazzini, President at BRS Labs.

"We are excited to be partnering with BRS Labs as they have a unique product in the market place. Together we have a shared vision of increasing the efficiency of control rooms by reducing the amount of human intervention needed, which not only reduces costs but also reduces the potential for operator error," commented Adlan Hussain, Marketing Manager at CNL Software.

CNL Software Selected for Major US Safe City PSIM Project

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - November 9, 2011 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, has been selected by yet another major US city to provide the integration and information management platform for their City Shield Project. CNL Software has already deployed the largest Safe City project in the US to date.

With over 400,000 residents, the city plans to integrate several hundred current city cameras from both the public and private sectors in the initial phase, reaching upward of 3,000 cameras when the project is completed. The project will include video, real time alert management and radio communications that will allow local businesses to talk directly with the Police Department's 911 call center. The aggregation of this intelligence will increase situational awareness and the overall safety of the near half a million citizens who live and work in this metropolitan area.

By connecting, verifying and aggregating data from the city's multiple systems, as well as the data from private organizations and collaborating agencies, the IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM deployment will enable the city to distribute intelligence to the point of need in real time for enhanced situation management. Future plans for the project include the integration of other government agencies including transportation, water treatment facilities and school systems.

IPSecurityCenter will provide a common operating picture, to all operatives across the city. This will allow them to act faster and to provide more coordinated responses in real-time. It will support rapid decision making and more effective deployment of resources, resulting in better outcomes following an incident and reduced risk for the city. Matthew Kushner, CNL Software President says, "We are pleased to have been chosen to participate in this major Safe City project. The selection of IPSecurityCenter™ will ensure high levels of emergency preparedness at all times. This significant Safe City win, is yet another nod towards the adoption of PSIM throughout the US."

Matthew Kushner, CNL Software President, will also speak to PSIM and the safe city vertical as a panelist at the Baltimore Secured Cities Conference (Nov 10 & 11). This panel, led by independent security consultant Jim Webster of Red Five Security, will briefly examine case studies using PSIM in municipal security environments. The panel discussion will be followed by a roundtable forum on key elements for choosing a PSIM solution with focus on how to differentiate between various PSIM offerings and how PSIM technology can affect situation management in command & control centers. In addition, the seminar will examine how PSIM adoption will affect overall system design and the specifying process.
CNL Software Receives Expansion Order for Largest City PSIM Solution in the US

GLOBAL RELEASE - September 20, 2011 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, has received an expansion order for the integration and information management platform for the District of Columbia under their city wide Situation Awareness Program. CNL Software has deployed the largest city wide PSIM solution in the United States today.

The integration program creates a unified and central interface where situational awareness and monitoring requirements of multiple agencies within the District of Columbia can be managed and processed. Over 5,000 CCTV cameras are operating by multiple District agencies. Over the years, each agency has developed its own video control solution to fit its own requirements, with different applications, manufacturers, and control centers. The capability to share video data is critical during extraneous circumstances that require situational awareness above and beyond that of daily operations. Bringing together these various and separate resources onto one platform will ultimately improve emergency preparedness and response.

Following a successful commissioning of the initial phase of the DC Situation Awareness program, the expansion order will add additional agencies to the program and well over 2,000+ CCTV cameras bringing the total to 7,000+ cameras operated by multiple agencies.

The solution provided by CNL Software is one of the most advanced situational awareness systems in use today. CNL's IPSecurityCenter™ provides the integration and management platform to bring together systems from manufacturers including Cisco, Pelco, GE, Dedicated Micros, Bosch, ActiVu, DMP and ShotSpotter. Intelligence will be aggregated by IPSecurityCenter™ from all of these systems to deliver complete situation management capabilities.

Matthew Kushner, CNL President, of Americas says, "This ongoing relationship with the District of Columbia through the expansion of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) fortifies their commitment to lead the way in technology and innovation to create a safe environment for all who reside and travel through DC. It also signals the increase in the overall adoption of PSIM in the Safe City vertical. This expansion, paired with other recent, significant safe city wins, confirms PSIM will continue to be a rapidly adopted platform."

IPSecurityCenter Selected for One of Largest U.S. Ports

GLOBAL RELEASE - September 19, 2011 - CNL Software was recently selected by one of the largest U.S. Port Authorities to provide the integration and information management platform for port security.

The project consists of multiple ports in the region where container growth and capacity are expected to nearly double from a current 3.5 million containers to 6.5 million containers by 2018.

Heightened security has generated increased investment at numerous critical infrastructure sites across the country. Protecting the port from theft, activism, terrorism and all other forms of crime requires high levels of security. Over the years the port has deployed a wide range of physical security systems to address these security challenges. This latest enhancement will see all of these systems working together through the IPSecurityCenter™ integration and management platform, aggregating intelligence from these to increase situational awareness.

The solution will allow centralized command and control capability for all of the sites from one location. It consists of various security systems and services, including integrated and comprehensive video surveillance, wireless communications, radar, TWIC compliant access control, and a Command & Control solution for the port.

Matt Kushner, President CNL says, "We are pleased that IPSecurityCenter was selected for this critical Homeland Defense initiative. As one of the largest ports in the US and a huge contributor to the US economy, it is essential that security is World-Class. The selection of IPSecurityCenter will ensure they have consistently high levels of emergency preparedness at all times across all sites."

CNL Software Releases IPSecurityCenter™ v4.5 PSIM

GLOBAL RELEASE - September 16, 2011 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, is pleased to announce the release of version 4.5 of IPSecurityCenter™, its award winning PSIM software. This latest release, IPSecurityCenter version 4.5 adds a number of new features which allow end users to increase situation awareness and emergency preparedness. It also enhances the user experience, making it easier for them to perform their operations using the updated Human Machine Interface (HMI).

In parallel, enhancements have been made that are designed to support CNL software channel partners to rapidly deploy PSIM solutions for their customers. Some of the key new features are;

Video Export - This offers huge time and cost savings as video from any connected camera, regardless of its geographic location or its manufacturer can be exported for incident investigation. It allows operators to select evidence by selecting cameras from a map, cameras related to an incident, from a list of favourites or by searching for a camera. Once a list of cameras have been specified the operator can select the desired location for the exported video and IPSecurityCenter will then automatically schedule, create and advise when the files are ready.

One IPSecurityCenter user centralises video from over 3000 locations allowing video to be exported from over 10,000 cameras. Prior to this, the organisation was exporting locally and reliant on operatives to transport this evidence, which was time consuming and expensive. This time saving is critical for evidence review when resolving incidents.

Alarm Types - Provide easy management of alarm process configuration. This allows rapid deployment of solutions as alarm configurations can be done through an intuitive wizard based user interface. It also makes it easier to pull in alarms from new systems when extending existing deployments.

Tile Layouts - Provide out of the box access to a wide range of video salvos. Salvos can be created, saved and recalled at any time and are governed by IPSecurityCenter's advanced permission system. A tile layout can contain a mixture of cameras from any supported video system, allowing the operator to access all visual intelligence needed to manage the situation.

Sequences - Provide built-in support for video patrols. A sequence can include cameras from any supported video management system and can recall saved preset positions.

Reporting Interface - Allows report generation from IPSecurityCenter data using standard enterprise business intelligence tools such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and others.

Dashboard - Includes out of the box pre-configured KPI dashboards and expands the user interface dashboard controls.

Jon Lunnerfeldt, Product Manager at CNL Software comments "With every new release IPSecurityCenter increases in sophistication. We are working closely with channel partners, end users and security consultants to add features which answer some of the most difficult challenges faced by the security industry today. Our efforts are not only enabling PSIM to become quicker and easier to deploy, but at the same time we are constantly adding richer features to aid security operations around the globe."

These developments ensure CNL Software continues to lead the PSIM market with product research and innovation as a cornerstone of its activities. It recently launched the IPSCDevNet™, a new concept within PSIM that allows third parties to build integration drivers to the IPSecurityCenter platform.

CNL Software will be demonstrating IPSecurityCenter v4.5 at ASIS 2011 in Orlando. For further information please visit CNL Software in booth #2361 at ASIS or email marketing@cnlsoftware.com.

CNL Software and PPM 2000 Deepen Partnership

GLOBAL RELEASE - September 15, 2011 - CNL, a world leader in developing Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, announces plans to deepen their existing partnership with PPM 2000 Inc., the world's leading developer of Incident Management software for corporate security departments.

The expanded partnership will increase the interaction between CNL's award winning IPSecurityCenter™ (IPSC) and PPM 2000's Perspective Incident Management software.

In addition to the current link between IPSC and Perspective, IPSC users will now be able to interact with Perspective's Computer-Aided Dispatching and Officer Management module, DispatchLog. By combining IPSC's Process Guidance rules engine with DispatchLog's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), users of the integrated solution will now be able to monitor and respond to events, complete with the timely dispatching of the appropriate officers and agencies.

By implementing a solution that includes IPSC, Perspective and DispatchLog, corporate security departments will be able to manage an event in its entirety; from pre-event planning, to event response, to post-event documentation.

Brian McIlravey, Co-CEO of PPM, remarked, "Expanding the integration to include DispatchLog makes the IPSC/Perspective combination one of the most robust, operational Situation Management products on the market. The matching technologies ensure a seamless, end-to-end Incident Management solution."

Matt Kushner, President of CNL Software Americas, adds, "The partnership and integration with PPM 2000 will enhance the functionality of existing Perspective deployments by utilizing CNL's powerful response plan engine. Our shared commitment to giving customers the tools needed to solve complex business and security challenges was the catalyst to expanding our partnership with PPM 2000. We're excited to continue delivering new, innovative solutions and partnerships to the market."

CNL Software Announces IPSCDevNet™

GLOBAL RELEASE - September 08, 2011 - CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, announces the global release of the IPSecurityCenter Developer Network (IPSCDevNet™), and becomes the first PSIM vendor to build a community of certified driver developers.

The IPSCDevNet™ will provide registered partners with all the tools and support needed to create certified integration drivers to the IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM platform. It will allow the open integration of a wide range of security and environmental management systems, including CCTV, access control, radar, PIDS, and fire.

IPSCDevNet™ partners will have access to a full test suite, which allows low cost, fast and reliable development. Partners are also provided with user guides, reference documentation and fully working examples. Interest among CNL Software channel and technology partners has been high, with a number of certified drivers already in use in installed projects.

Jon Lunnerfeldt, Product Manager at CNL Software comments, "This is a great advancement for the PSIM market. By allowing third parties to develop their own drivers, manufacturers of underlying systems who may have previously held some reservations about sharing their technology can now work within enterprise PSIM projects without sharing their SDKs or APIs. We have invested significantly in creating an environment similar to the app development which has revolutionized smart phones. This creates cost and time reductions for both end users and CNL Software partners. Ultimately, IPSCDevNet™ will provide the PSIM market with added value and greater choice."

CEO, Keith Bloodworth adds, "Our goal at CNL Software is to support an "open" architecture that allows our partners to deliver the best solutions possible to their clients. Some of our competitors use 3rd party products to create drivers but we find it much more advantageous to allow our partners to create the drivers themselves. Not only is it a technically sound approach but one that adds multiple benefits to the partners while simultaneously creating a community dedicated to providing the best solution for the end user."

Frost & Sullivan PSIM Report

LONDON - 16 December 2010 - Physical security information management (PSIM) is becoming fundamental for next-generation, fully integrated physical security systems to offer advanced functionalities and to present a clear return on investment (ROI).

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan Analysis of the Worldwide Physical Security Information Management Market, finds that the world market for PSIM software earned revenues of $80 million in 2009 and estimates this to reach $544 million in 2015, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 37.6 percent.

"While PSIM is seeing a higher degree of customisation, coupled with increased connectivity, many market participants believe that PSIM functionality can or should be created with off-the-shelf software and not by customisation options," notes Frost & Sullivan Research Manager Matia Grossi. "It is anticipated that while the standardisation process gains momentum, the need to provide customised solutions will remain dominant in the market."

Software development and processor power have accelerated the adoption of PSIM. Today, the majority of the deployments is made mainly at maritime and airports, with critical infrastructure, homeland security and law enforcement applications. Declining costs and greater sophistication are boosting the adoption of PSIM. The advanced use of wizards and plug-and-play technology makes PSIM solutions viable for large- and medium-sized organisations. As a result, PSIM has extended its boundaries from being limited to critical infrastructure protection and homeland security to the larger corporate market.

The migration of physical security technologies from analogue to IP is enabling easier communication, further fuelling the increased usage of PSIM. At the same time, the increasing recognition of its benefits among both security-critical sectors and non-security-critical ones is also boosting the prospects of PSIM.

"Heightened competition is leading to a fall in price. Inevitably, more competitors means that this technology is becoming more accessible to a wider range of customers," adds Grossi. "CNL, VidSys, Proximex, and NICE with the acquisition of Orsus, are the clear market leaders at the moment and have a real stronghold in the market; these companies are driving PSIM adoption and acceptance."

Ensuring interoperability across different vendors' devices/systems remains a challenge for the market. The physical security market as a whole lacks common, open standards. Thus, virtually, any deployment requires the development of new drivers to integrate various systems. "However, the first steps towards increasing standardization are currently being made in the market from organizations such as ONVIF and PSIA," comments Grossi.

"The capability to intelligently analyse and cross-reference incoming data represents yet another challenge," states Grossi. "With some exceptions, PSIM systems, even today, still process individual alarms."

Despite these challenges, the outlook for the market is optimistic. As the traditional command centre solution providers have started accepting PSIM and end-users are demanding it, PSIM is emerging as a rapidly growing technology category promising increased year-on-year revenues.

steamroller or part of the road.
There has been a lot of tech rocking and rolling when it comes to security staff
and their tasks of patrolling, protecting and reporting. In the past, technology
used by a security officer was limited to a guard tour system device, a two-way
radio, a flashlight and keys. Often there was limited communication and
incident reporting was via paperwork and relied heavily on memory. Critical
information was not shared effectively.
